Fenty Beauty: Tools Review
Hello ALL!
Today I have another review for you. I will be reviewing the Fenty Beauty Full Bodied Foundation Brush #110 and the Cheek-Hugging Highlight Brush #120
You may be wondering "What took her so long to post the last series?"
For makeup brushes (with the exception of sponges) I like to WAIT a few months to really see the quality. This is because makeup brushes are at their prime upon purchase. After a few weeks or months is when you can really test the quality. This is because you can see the endurance of the bristles and handle after multiple wash cycles.
Brush quality is important. You can buy a brush that costs $40 but will last you years, and you can also buy a brush that costs $10 that will last you a few months. Sometimes you can buy an expensive brush that won't last long and a cheap one that will last a lifetime...aka my ELF Kabuki Brush.
I'm just sayin- I rather wait and give you all the BEST review- and with brushes that is time!
Now on to the review....
The Full Bodied Foundation Brush #110 retails for $34 and its claims are:
A medium-density liquid foundation brush designed to give Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation seamless, air-touched full coverage
When the Fenty line came out I was more interested in making the foundation work to the best of its ability. After seeing Jeffree Star's review I had to buy the brush as well. When I tried it myself it applied the foundation FLAWLESSLY and the coverage was incredible. It is perfectly dense and combines a traditional foundation brush with a buffing look. I have used it with my other foundations which are among: Maybelline Matte and Poreless, Estee Lauder Double Wear, Lancome 24 Hour, etc.
THIS DOES NOT SHED. I repeat this does not shed. I usually clean my brushes quickly with a spray cleaner and deep clean once a week. I have never seen a single hair shed.
For comparison, I bought the Morphe M439 pictured below:

in July and it is completely done. The bristles began falling off a long time ago and it is so bad I can barely use it!
Now for the Fenty brush: if you want the fullest coverage out of your foundation, a seamless application and a quality brush it is worth the investment!
I recommend 10/10
Now, let's move on to the Cheek-Hugging Highlight Brush #120. It retails for $32. Here are it's claims:
The Cheek-Hugging Highlight Brush 120 embraces curves like no other. This game-changing highlight brush features expertly chiseled curves on both sides that “hug” more than just your cheeks—like your brow bone, cupid’s bow, the bridge of your nose, and even your collarbone—for an effortlessly killer glow.
I bought this brush because I saw it in action in a promotion video with Rihanna and her makeup artist. I bought the highlighter and I wanted the best tool to use it.
If you want the MAXIMUM glow out of your highlighter, this is the brush to use!
The angle of the brush is so unique and it really does get the highest point of your cheekbone to hug your face just right. The quality is consistent with the foundation brush.
Now, do you ABSOLUTELY need to spend $32 on a highlighter brush? No.
I love how it performs but it is not a must have. For the morning time, I usually opt for my fan brush as my highlighter is already pigmented. For the night time, I love this brush to really make it pop and I love it. For the price point, you can pass. However if you want to splurge, I say go for it!
Recommend 8/10
